Recertification by RU Credit
Recertification
by RU credits is a simple process of obtaining a minimum of 18
recertification units (RUs) within your three-year certification
period. You may accumulate the 18 RU credits from professional
activities that either increase your knowledge of the Body of
Knowledge (BOK) or is job enhancing. To receive the employment
RU credits, at least one area of your job duties, responsibilities,
and/or functions must fall in at least one area of your certification(s)
Body of Knowledge (BOK). Then other category activities must fall
in either one area of the certification(s) BOK or be directly
job enhancing. Just remember that all activities may be started
before your three-year recertification period, but must be completed
within your three-year recertification period to qualify.
Participate
in Chat for Recertification Units (RUs) — ASQ Chat Events
Recertification units will now be granted for the monthly one
hour and a half chat events being hosted on My ASQ.org. Members
will be granted .15 RUs for each chat event they actively participate
in. Active participation is defined as attendance in the chat
environment as well as the posting of at least three questions
or pertinent comments to the chat event guest speaker.
Reduced Recertification RU Credits for Extenuating Circumstances
If you have extenuating circumstances such as unemployment, overseas
travel, military involvement, extended health issues, maternity
leave, etc., you may qualify for reduced recertification RU credits.
