Chair's Message - Marion Bize - August, 2008
July marked the beginning of a new ASQ membership year. I want to thank the Section Leadership Team and committee members who volunteer their time and expertise year-round to provide educational and networking opportunities for our members. We have documented the results of our 2007-08 Business Plan and are finalizing the business plan for 2008-09. For details on last year's Business Plan, please see the Leadership Team page in this Newsletter.
I encourage all our members to visit our website, www.asqdallas.org , and our calendar to get the latest information on events planned for the upcoming year. Our next Professional Development meeting is September 25, 2008 and we have a NEW meeting location at the Holiday Inn Select, 1655 N. Central Expressway in Richardson . Our speaker is Jami Hampton from JMP and her talk is on “Building a Profitable Customer Base: A Case Study with Data Support”. Jami will also present the tutorial on “Interactive Data Analysis and Visualization using JMP® Software.” Watch your newsletters for more information including how to register for the meeting.
Following the Professional Development meeting, we have some other events planned:
- The Second Annual North Texas Quality Classic Golf Tournament is on September 26, 2008 at Bear Creek Golf Club. Register by September 23 for just $100. For more information, click here.
- The Texas Quality Cruise , which we co-host with other ASQ organizations and the Quality Texas Foundation takes place from October 26 – November 2 . For more information and to register, please review the PowerPoint presentation and click on the registration link. Compare the cost to a 3-day conference which typically runs upward of $1500 by the time you figure in hotel and transportation. If you have any questions about the cruise please contact me at: marion.bize@alcatel-lucent.com
There are volunteer opportunities available with the Dallas Section, whether you can spend a lot of time or only a few hours a month. Volunteering with the Section is a great way to meet people and earn RUs at the same time. Please visit this link to view open positions or contact me at marion.bize@alcatel-lucent.com to find out which committees need members.
One of our goals is to continually improve by implementing suggestions from our members. We are currently developing our plans for the coming year and welcome input from you. Please email me at marion.bize@alcatel-lucent.com with your suggestions.
We look forward to seeing you on September 25!
Our Vision: The Dallas ASQ Section 1402 is the leader of quality and performance excellence for the Dallas area.
Our Mission : It is our Mission to provide the information, forums, certifications, and networking that enhances members' value.
