ASQ Unemployment Program – Dues Reduction
ASQ has a program for dues reduction. This benefit applies to members who want to retain their membership, but have difficulty renewing because they are currently unemployed. Membership dues are $129 for current Full (formerly Regular), Senior, and Fellow members. Participating members receive a discount on their membership renewal based on consecutive years of membership. For more information go to link for ASQ Unemployment Program.

Cowtown Conference
The "Cowtown Conference" is scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2009. Here is a link to information on the conference. It is a full day conference, with breakfast AND lunch for $97. Earn 1.0 RU's for attending. The Ft. Worth Section has always had informative sessions and this year will not be different.

2009 Fall Conference
Planning is underway for the 2009 Fall conference, tentatively scheduled for Friday October 23, 2009. Start thinking now about how you might participate in the conference. The following opportunities are available:
Conference Chair – We need a volunteer to coordinate the entire conference.
Conference Committee – Volunteers are needed to develop a theme and begin organizing and coordinating the conference.
Presenters – If you have a topic you would like to present at the conference, please let us know.
Sponsors – Market your company’s products and services to conference attendees.

MLEA Nominations Due
Nominations need to be in to Steve Fox by April 4, and activities need to be substantially completed in this member year: July 1, 208 through June 30, 2009. A narrative of the nominee's accomplishments needs to be included, along with the score of the nominee by the individual making the nomination. Scoring is on a 0-5 point basis, with 0=no activity and 5=exceptional contribution. A nominee needs to score at least 12 points to be considered for the award. Here is a link to the Nomination Form.

New Section Leadership Team (LT) Member
Darrell Callison - New Section ISO SIG Coordinator
Darrell Callison has a M.S. in Chemistry. He holds the CQE & CQA certifications from ASQ as well as a Provisional Auditor certification from RABQSA. He has worked in the semiconductor industry for 29 years. He has had significant management responsibility and has worked as an individual contributor.
For 27 of these years he worked at Texas Instruments. His audit experience spans 23 years and is significant. He has audited many sites in the U.S. and also in Japan and Korea to ISO 9001:2000 ,TS 16949, and Mil-Std criteria. For more information, see his profile on LinkedIn.com. Darrell enjoys reading, sports, biomedical engineering, and has refinished some furniture. He is currently refinishing the kitchen cabinets.
