Chair's Message - Marion Bize - June, 2009

We are at the end of the ASQ fiscal year. It has truly been my pleasure to serve as your Chair this year. I really appreciate all the support you have given me during the year, and I especially want to thank all the members of the Leadership Team for their assistance in making the Dallas Section a success.
It was definitely an exciting and fast-paced year. We had a few “firsts”, among them a Quality Cruise with the Fort Worth and Houston Sections and the HD&L Division, and two webinars that were designed to bring content to members in a format different from the usual Professional Development meeting. We enjoyed several excellent speakers at our meetings and tutorials. Since July 1 2008 we have 260 new members in our Section (through mid-June). I know you can all look forward to a great year under the leadership of incoming Chair Fred Martin and his team.
- Please plan to join us on September 24 2009 for our next Professional Development Meeting.
- We are implementing a Mentor program for new Section members. If you are an “experienced” member of ASQ and are interested in serving as a mentor, please contact Kiami Rogers.
- Mark your calendars for a one-day Fall Conference on Friday, October 23. We are lining up some great speakers for this one-day learning event. Please email me if you are interested in presenting at the Fall Conference.
I hope you will consider volunteering with the Dallas Section, whether you have a few hours or only a few minutes each month. Volunteering with the Section is a great way to meet people, gain leadership experience and earn Recertification Units at the same time.
One of our goals is to continually improve by implementing suggestions from our members. We always welcome input from you. Please email me with your suggestions.
Our Vision: The Dallas ASQ Section 1402 is the leader of quality and performance excellence for the Dallas area.
Our Mission: It is our Mission to provide the information, forums, certifications, and networking that enhances members’ value.
Marion Bize, Chair - ASQ Dallas Section 1402
