News of the Month

Dallas Section ASQ invites you to join us for a fascinating evening of good company, good food and informative presentations as we hold our first PD Meeting for the ASQ year on Thursday, September 24th.

Dallas ASQ is pleased to introduce Mike English at the September 24, 2009 PD Meeting as he presents “The Quality of the Made in China Brand – What It May Mean for ASQ”

From the interdependence of Chinese and American economies to the need for continued improvement in Chinese manufacturing and other industries, the role China plays in our everyday lives is significant. Please join us for an informative and interesting presentation on this timely topic.

This presentation will enlighten ASQ members about myths and truths about the quality of the “Made in China” brand along with an outlook and insightful characteristics about China’s economy, workforce, and governmental standards.  We all know about quality problems of lead in toys, defective and dangerous tires, tainted seafood, poisonous toothpaste, and the highly publicized tainted milk scandal.  But what's been done about it?  In addition, because ASQ has created a China “footprint” via ASQ China, ASQ Dallas members will also be briefed about why and how ASQ is focusing on China.  Much of this talk will be based on the author’s six months experience working in Shanghai and Shenzhen during 2008.  Attendees will leave with fresh knowledge about the quality of so many products they buy every day from Wal-Marts across the USA.

Dallas Section ASQ is pleased to introduce Dirk Spencer, presenting on the topic “Your Digital Footprint”,  September 24th , 5:45, Richardson Double Tree Hotel

Please join us for an informative session where Dirk Spencer creator of "Resume Psychology Get the the Offer - Not the Interview" the science of writing resumes will present "Your Digital Footprint".  Dirk will provide effective and practical information for creating a presence on "the net" - without being a computer hacker or web master. If you do not have a digital footprint or think you do not need one - this is the session for you.
