Chair's Message - Frederick Martin - October, 2009

Hello ASQ Dallas Section members.
Thanks to Mike English and Dirk Spencer for presenting at the September Professional Development Meeting. The insight into Quality issues, Culture differences, ASQ opportunities and the impact in terms of the Chinese and USA economies was very interesting.
Dirk Spencer presented effective and practical information for creating a presence on "the net" – this was timely information for members considering entering the job market.
I was reading the October 5, 2009 issue of Forbes and one of the articles was “America’s Most Promising Companies.” According to the article greater than 50% of the 20 companies listed have an interest in computers. I hope you are aware that ASQ has a Division that is dedicated to Software and that ASQ offers a certification for Software Quality Engineer (CQSE).
There are over 3,000 articles on the ASQ Website concerning computers.

Please see listing of ASQ Divisions and Certifications below.

For additional information on joining a Division or obtaining a new Certification visit the ASQ website.
