Chair's Message - Frederick Martin - December, 2009

Hello ASQ Dallas Section members.
As we enter the Holiday season, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of the examples of how ASQ addresses humanistic contributions, by pointing you to the ASQ Quality for Life Website. Contribution of personal resources (time, monetary, talents, etc.) is leading by example and creates an environment that encourages all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of a better Quality of Life.
http://www4.asq.org/qualityforlife/stories.html
The site highlights the humanistic accomplishments of quality professionals at work, in their personal lives, and through volunteer efforts.
Featuring:
Work Stories
Learn how people use quality tools while on the job -- offering certifications and saving lives.
Volunteer Effort Stories
See how people used quality in charity and non-profit work -- helping children, improving living conditions, and more.
Personal Life Stories
Learn how others put quality to work in their personal life -- helping neighbors and improving lives
This is a time to reflect on the many blessings we are fortunate to experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members of the Leadership Team that unselfishly give their time to ASQ. I encourage the membership to make sure they give something back to the community by volunteering their time to ASQ or some other organization. We all can make a positive difference in someone’s life by giving a toy to the “Toys for Tots” or a donation to the” North Texas Food Bank” or perhaps donating blood.
We applaud the ASQ Dallas Chapter members for their participation, which allows the Dallas Chapter to give back to the community in many ways, for example by sponsoring awards for the IEE Future City competition.
We also applaud the members who will volunteer one of their Saturdays’ to act as judges for this year's Future City competition!
Dallas ASQ Section 1402 is pleased to present Mr. Peter Andres, President ASQ for a lively and topical presentation on “Making the Case for Quality.” The economics of quality can’t be denied, especially during these challenging times.
